:bulletorange: Applying to be featured
Simply send us a note with the title "feature corner" or something along the lines and let us know what kind of feature you'd like.
We continuously get people asking why their art is declined, why did we take it off the group, why it's no longer apart of our group and so forth.

We are not doing this to seem mean, we accept works of all media - Traditional, digital etc.
But we do have Rules to which we would appreciate people would follow, as we normally have to 90% of the time tell people what the rules of the group are.

We do have people submitting SONIC work, examples of so:
.:Sonic:. by luna777 AMY AND SONIC by GaruGiroSonicShadow

We don't accept these as they are not what the group is about.

BUT. - If there were done in a more human form such as these:
Sonic by MatchLight Sonic Amy HP Style by RosaKiddy

Then your work will be accepted into the group (Provided they're placed into the correct folder)

We've also had those who give us Kemonomimi work which is a human with animal ears an tail (such as Kitsunes, Nekos an so forth)- these aren't accepted into the group. They're not ANTHRO as we have stated this group is.

We do have a quality control which we wish to uphold, which is an image that has a basic grasp of anatomy and also that it's clean and clear.
We DO accept mature art provided they're along the lines of what I have already stated.

Now here's what a lot of people do.
When they've been declined, they tend to think if they re-submit they believe another mod will accept them into the group. This isn't the case, once your art has been declined, unless we've asked you to re-submit it into a specific folder, you are no longer try with that piece, if you would like to know why you were declined, merely ask and we will tell you.

We also tend to get a lot of people asking WHAT are we asking for when we say we would like 'mordern' anthros and we point them to the same direction each time.

We have this image to which provides a good idea on what we would like to see from you:
Modern Anthro chart by Kayshae and Anthro Differences by KrisiChiki

These are to help you see what we accept as well as help you distinguish the difference of what people tend to confuse with a lot.

We do have a rules and guidelines page if you would like to read that -which I believe would be a benefit for yourselves- modern-anthro.deviantart.com/j…

If there is any questions that you have and can't be answered, be free to ask us as we are here to help you, as you are here to help us expand in this group.

Thank you - Hades.C.

:note: About our group.
To inspire and be inspired! To share your art!
We do not aim to insult the classic anthro art and artists. One who truly loves anthro will enjoy all kinds of art. :+favlove:
However, considering that there are a lot of artists who prefer drawing anthro in a more modern way we ,the founders, decided to make a group for them. We would also like to promote modern anthro art because, sadly, there are people who consider modern anthro (furry) inferior and we are here to change that.

:emailsend: Joining.
Just click the "Join Group" button on the top of the page.
You must, of course, enjoy and love anthro art. It is not necessary for you to submit artworks regularly. You can simply join to enjoy the art.
All join requests are automatically approved.

:deviation: Submitting Artworks.
All artworks should be Modern Anthro Art. If you don't know what modern anthro is please visit the links on the top. All artworks should be finished pieces. For a more detailed information about submissions please read the rules & guidelines.
Submission limit is currently 1 per week for every member.

:star: Suggesting to Favourites.
Any member and non-member may suggest favourites so feel free to add!

:groups: Affiliates.
We are accepting affiliates of all kinds as long as your group is a serious one. Groups made just for the fun of it will not be accepted.

:bulletorange: Staff positions are currently open. Please send us a note if you'd like to apply.

Could I see the picture you were trying to submit? It was either a mis-click
or the Anthro in the picture had a long snout.

I think it was declined because the Fox and Raccoon character's snouts are too long, but
it looks fine to me  Would you like me to talk to the owner of the group about it?

I don't mean to be rude but this group is called Modern-Anthro..
It's confusing to people who know the difference between Furry and Anthro.
What is uploaded here are Modern-Furries.. Not Anthro's as those are more animalistic than Furries.

All these animals have nearly flat faces. They are at least 80 procent humanoid which makes them Furrie and Not Anthro..

First of all, thank you for speaking your mind.
We continuously have to justify the name we chose long ago for our group, and it is getting tiring. But just for you, I shall do so once more.
To get right to the point, what you say is only partially correct.
A furry is only a subcategory of Anthros, so every Furry is an Anthro by default. However, an anthro doesn't have to be a Furry. From Thomas the Tank Engine to the Sun and the Northwind, there are countless samples for this: Anthros are all things that are given a human-like properties, be it human faces or bodies or simply the fact that an object speaks or displays emotion.
As such, naming the group anything containing the word Furry would be wrong. Despite the fact that most of our submissions are animal-based, we don't discourage other anthropomorphizations.

On the second half of your message regarding flattened faces, I have to strongly disagree. At least half the Furry community is composed of Furries that don't have flat faces, in fact, a majority of Furries is more animalistic than what we seek to display in our gallery. I can only entreat you, for reference, to google the term Furry and look at the image galleries you find there. Far less than half the displayed characters have flattened faces.

I can agree to the fact that calling our group Modern-Anthro might've been misguiding, as modern is always a term that has to be put into perspective, while the basics of our groups guidelines are always the same: If you wish to submit animal-based anthros, let it be Flat-Faced. However, as this was not your concern, I will leave the arguement at that.

Hey folks...I'm finishing the final book in my "Chronicles of the Free People" trilogy. It's an epic fantasy about the anthro characters that inhabit their world. I plan on releasing the books as a eBook box set and have need for a cover. What I was thinking, is just a muscular arm of a white tiger holding a bow up in victory. No background or anything, since I can work photoshop. Just can't illustrate.
Anyway, I can't afford to pay for it. I can certainly give free sets away for anybody that sends a drawing. I know, pretty cheesy but it's all I got. Let me know if it interests you. Thanks.
