:bulletorange: Applying to be featured
Simply send us a note with the title "feature corner" or something along the lines and let us know what kind of feature you'd like.
We continuously get people asking why their art is declined, why did we take it off the group, why it's no longer apart of our group and so forth.

We are not doing this to seem mean, we accept works of all media - Traditional, digital etc.
But we do have Rules to which we would appreciate people would follow, as we normally have to 90% of the time tell people what the rules of the group are.

We do have people submitting SONIC work, examples of so:
.:Sonic:. by luna777 AMY AND SONIC by GaruGiroSonicShadow

We don't accept these as they are not what the group is about.

BUT. - If there were done in a more human form such as these:
Sonic by MatchLight Sonic Amy HP Style by RosaKiddy

Then your work will be accepted into the group (Provided they're placed into the correct folder)

We've also had those who give us Kemonomimi work which is a human with animal ears an tail (such as Kitsunes, Nekos an so forth)- these aren't accepted into the group. They're not ANTHRO as we have stated this group is.

We do have a quality control which we wish to uphold, which is an image that has a basic grasp of anatomy and also that it's clean and clear.
We DO accept mature art provided they're along the lines of what I have already stated.

Now here's what a lot of people do.
When they've been declined, they tend to think if they re-submit they believe another mod will accept them into the group. This isn't the case, once your art has been declined, unless we've asked you to re-submit it into a specific folder, you are no longer try with that piece, if you would like to know why you were declined, merely ask and we will tell you.

We also tend to get a lot of people asking WHAT are we asking for when we say we would like 'mordern' anthros and we point them to the same direction each time.

We have this image to which provides a good idea on what we would like to see from you:
Modern Anthro chart by DezKay and Anthro Differences by KrisiChiki

These are to help you see what we accept as well as help you distinguish the difference of what people tend to confuse with a lot.

We do have a rules and guidelines page if you would like to read that -which I believe would be a benefit for yourselves- modern-anthro.deviantart.com/j…

If there is any questions that you have and can't be answered, be free to ask us as we are here to help you, as you are here to help us expand in this group.

Thank you - Hades.C.

:note: About our group.
To inspire and be inspired! To share your art!
We do not aim to insult the classic anthro art and artists. One who truly loves anthro will enjoy all kinds of art. :+favlove:
However, considering that there are a lot of artists who prefer drawing anthro in a more modern way we ,the founders, decided to make a group for them. We would also like to promote modern anthro art because, sadly, there are people who consider modern anthro (furry) inferior and we are here to change that.

:emailsend: Joining.
Just click the "Join Group" button on the top of the page.
You must, of course, enjoy and love anthro art. It is not necessary for you to submit artworks regularly. You can simply join to enjoy the art.
All join requests are automatically approved.

:deviation: Submitting Artworks.
All artworks should be Modern Anthro Art. If you don't know what modern anthro is please visit the links on the top. All artworks should be finished pieces. For a more detailed information about submissions please read the rules & guidelines.
Submission limit is currently 1 per week for every member.

:star: Suggesting to Favourites.
Any member and non-member may suggest favourites so feel free to add!

:groups: Affiliates.
We are accepting affiliates of all kinds as long as your group is a serious one. Groups made just for the fun of it will not be accepted.

:bulletorange: Staff positions are currently open. Please send us a note if you'd like to apply.

Mind if I asked why my artwork keeps getting declined when I try to contribute something to a gallery?

I sort've guessed it was because the two I pitched was because of the medieval-like subject material, but then I saw some World of Warcraft-esque artwork in other galleries.

My art no longer good here..? lol

I guess it's because your anthros have not enough human features of the face, that all. Sorry!

Weird. Can't help but say I doubt that's the case, but alright.

Hello !
I just wanted to say I think the name of the group is a bit confusing... Well.. I just don't see what's so "modern" about short-snouted anthros... Shrug
They're just a different type that's all... there's nothing new or modern to it... It's like saying that the other types are old and not original anymore...
(well it's just my opinion.)

So well.. I joined because I thought it looked like a cool anthro group for everyone to share their art... I admit I didn't read the rules very well... ^^" But since my anthros have long snouts the fact that I joined the group is kind of useless, so sorry for wasting your time and disturbing any of you... :/

Heya.
There's an explanation of this group and the style on the guidelines. The link is on the front page.

Copy&Paste from the guidelines:

Our Definition of "Anthro."
Please, do not argue with us stating "Our group is incorrect" or that we quote, "misunderstand the definition/concept of Anthro." "Modern Anthro" is not an official definition, but rather one we created ourselves for a more specific and diluted Anthro style. If you simply dislike the idea, please refrain from arguing with us, and instead just walk away. I assure you, every one of us admins is fully aware of the definition of "anthropomorphic."

We never, ever implied anything negative about the classic anthro style (as stated in the front page). We made a group for furries because they were overshadowed by the classic anthros in every anthro group. Mind you, back then all groups were general anthro groups and I looked that furry artists needed a chance for more spotlight and thus we made this group that only accepts a specific style.

Of course nowadays there are plenty of groups like that around. The reason they were overshadowed might have been because a lot of people seemed like they didn't appreciate furries, possibly for using a simpler style or because a lot of them have an anime/manga style. Anime/manga is also not considered "true art" by many, a quick google search will show you that.

We chose a particular name because furries were/are associated with lots of inappropriate stuff and calling it just "Anthro" would have been even more confusing. The original trio that created this group decided to go along with name "modern" because the other style is called "classic". May not be the best/most accurate choice or name but that's what we decided back then and rolled with it.

Don't worry, I understand perfectly... !
It's just the name that confused me, because I think the word "modern" doesn't fit really well. But hey ! that's only my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right !
I see what you mean with the furry problem. And I wasn't putting the group down, because it's a nice idea !
I just said what I thought, because the name confused me, nothing negative, really... I wasn't trying to be mean or anything... ^^'
So even if I think the name isn't the best choice, I still think this group is nice idea, and I'm fine with that. :)

I believe the name "Modern" used rather to delimit two kinds of styles, that's all.

And you don't disturb anyone. Feel free to submit  your artworks if you'll have some acceptable pieces.
Have a nice day!
